Most people keep their phone in a case. I have an otter box. Most phone holders are too narrow and only hold a bare phone. This phone holder is perfect for phones with cases. Not crowded, plenty of space no matter how you rotate it, horizontally or vertically. I hung mine on the dresser across from the bed. It's so wonderful when something works the way it's advertised.
