This is a review of HANZIM flameless candles Battery operated candlesWhat you get (Figure-1) 2 remote controls with batteries 1 spare battery cover... a nice touch 9 flameless pillar candles made from real wax in the Following sizes • 2-4"• 2-5"• 2-6"• 1-7"• 1-8"• 1-9" Each candle measures 2.2" (5.6 cm) in diameter. Picture-2) This is my second set of these candles. I use them around the house and also to add some warmth and coziness to catering events. Each takes two AA batteries (not included) and is rated for 150 hours of continuous use on a single set of batteries. I use rechargeable batteries so my performance is a bit slower. In addition to the battery life they are rated for 50,000 hours. As it has been almost six years I have yet to verify this statement fen. However, my first set of these candles was purchased over a year and a half ago and they still work. Activate the candles by inserting the batteries and gently closing the battery cover. Note. These covers will break if pressed, so be careful. Then turn it on by sliding the power switch to the on position. You can now use the remote controls to control many of the candle's functions. Since you have nine candlesticks I tend to group them in groups of three as you can see in these images (Figure 3, Figure 4, Figure 5). Two fully functional remote controls (Fig. 6). To activate the remote controls, pull out the plastic tab from below. The remotes are infrared, not wireless, so they must match the candles to work. I also did a distance test and had to be 10 to 12 feet (3 to 3.6 meters) away for the candles to see the signal coming from the remote. The top buttons on the remote control are used to turn the candles on (green) and off (red). Candles must be turned on before other functions can be used. The remaining buttons are divided into 4 sections. Timer The four buttons in this section control how long the candles are lit (2, 4, 6, or 8 hours). Note. If you just press the red button, the candles will burn until the batteries run out. Mode You have two options: candle mode or light mode. The lighting mode gives you constant light; while candle mode creates the illusion of a flickering candle. Note. When you first use candle mode on a group of candles, they all flicker at the same time, making them look fake; however, after about 20 to 30 seconds, they start blinking independently. Gives you a very realistic looking cluster of candles. Blackout. By pressing two buttons (left, decrease, right increase) you can adjust the brightness to your desired mood. Conclusion As I mentioned this is my second set and after using them almost every day for about 18 months they are still going strong. Note.
