I needed this cable for a new external monitor I just received, an Acer Nitro XV270, to connect to my laptop which uses the Acer -Predator is Triton 500. Since the laptop had limited inputs, I needed a small DisplayPort instead of the regular DisplayPort so I could use the HDMI port for something else. Also, for the most part, Displayports seem to offer a higher refresh rate than HDMI (generally I know it depends on the generation of the port). Anyway, after searching, searching, searching and looking at all the details, this one seems to have ticked all the boxes. So straight out of the packaging and plug it in. There were no problems. The monitor is recognized immediately and everything looks fine. I tested at 144Hz and the monitor, computer and game said I was getting 144 frames. I have options to lower the refresh rate and increase it to 165Hz using the monitor's overclocking feature. I can set it to 165 hours in the display adapter, graphics card or monitor menu of the computer. It switched instantly every time and ran 165 frames without issue when tested again. I had absolutely no stuttering, ghosting or screen tearing, really no issues. It was very easy to set up and get started. I don't have an 8k display so I can't tell how it works. However, my roommate has a 4K TV, and from the laptop to the TV he streamed a 4K signal at 144 frames. I really like the clip as it has a secure connection and you don't have to worry about it being pulled or anything. The court itself doesn't feel too flimsy, it actually has a good thickness to feel solid. This is a good model. Overall I had no trouble using this for work videos and games that performed like a champ. I would highly recommend this to anyone.
