Review on Rechargeable Hand Warmer With 10000MAh Power Bank And All-Around Heating, Magnetic 2-Pack Electric Hand Warmer For Arthritis Relief, Hunting, Golfing, And Men/Women by Luis Mercado

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Good set of electric handwarmers.

This is a pair of 5000 Mah powerbanks which also have heating elements. They can have magnets that can stick the pair together, but otherwise each is fully independent with a USB-C charge in port, and USB-A charge out port and a power button. They come with charging cords and a nice-looking drawstring pouch, but I have a hard time figuring why I would ever use such a pouch. They get nicely toasty, and the heat lasts several hours -- I have not tested battery life on the various settings yet. The controls are okay, but not great, with a small black on black button that you must hold for four seconds to turn the heat on, and then single tap press to scroll through heating settings. I guess the needed long press is to prevent accidental jostling from turning the unit on -- but this isn't ideal for the sort of cold hands and likely dark in the winter scenarios where I most want this type of device. My biggest issue is not with this particular unit, but rather with this type of handwarmer overall. Each of these is slightly larger, and slightly lighter than a roll of quarters. That's a decent size to grip, and an okay weight for jacket pockets, but these are rather heavy and bulky to keep inside gloves, mittens, or even pogies. That means that these are not going to be much use to me for winter biking, and I'm likely better off with smaller, lighter chemical hand warmers. Additionally, the battery life is going to be measured in hours, not in days. While that's fine for day trips, it means that for any cold weather overnight camping, these are going likely insufficient. And from a weight-weenie perspective, I can carry 6.8 packs of chemical hand warmers for the listed weight of this -- and these only have a claimed battery life equal to the claimed warming time of 1.5 pairs of chemical hand warmers, so for the same weight I can get four times the duration going with chemical over rechargeable electric handwarmers. Now of course, the issue is that each pack of chemical handwarmers is single use, while this will likely last at least a couple years making this a lot cheaper in the long run. Thus this is going to be an alternative to but not a complete replacement for chemical handwarmers.
