Review on AIRCARE MAF2 Replacement Wicking Humidifier by Leonard Babers

I bought this filter for my AirCare model MA0800 humidifier. I've tried a few others and to be honest they all have the same bad design. The reason this filter is my favorite is because the filter fits into the unit without having to be adjusted which others don't, and it seems to be a slightly stiffer material than others I've tried. So if you need a MAF2 filter, this might be the best. However, the overall design is annoying. Maybe it's because they have to accommodate so many different models, but I don't see why there isn't some sort of fringe around the filter to prevent the inevitable sagging. Which will eventually happen and seriously hamper the device's ability to provide humidification. So if, like mine, your machine runs all the time, be prepared to change the filter every 4-6 weeks. If it had a frame you could flip it over and get some more time out of the device as the top half stays fairly clean compared to the bottom half which is submerged. However, this one is arguably the best and I've tried the other two. from different manufacturers. So I'm giving those four stars only because I think it's the best MAF2 replacement available, not necessarily because it's a great filter. .
