I was a little skeptical of its usefulness but needed a quick solution for weekend river fly fishing. I didn't have much time to look for the perfect pair of boots so I decided to try these on instead. I already had a good pair of wellies and the spikes came off very easily. Put on some waders and it works great! I felt pretty confident with my grip on the river and even swam in some of the waterfall pools. We had two experienced fishermen with us who had the right shoes and were much better at navigating the river but my other friend who only had a pair of bare gums had a bit of trouble. If you're looking for something to bolster your existing pair of wellies, this will work great! I plan to use them on icy surfaces in winter too.
