Spend a little more than basic YakTrax Pro tracks. It's worth it.

Same as Yaktrak Diamond. The popular tracked version of the YakTrax Pro fills up with snow, which turns to ice and renders it useless. They're enough for walking on slippery ice (we walked 1.9 miles up a hilly slope of clear ice to see a spectacular waterfall), but they're not so scratchy that you're afraid of damaging the ground can't go inside. Ideal for winter city walks in Reykjavik.

Pros
  • Convenient for all day use
Cons
  • No machine

Very good quality, very efficient, hard wearing

Purchased for safer river trout fishing. it just fits well. So far they've worked well on rocks (a bit slippery on some types of big rocks so you can still be careful but still a big improvement), mud, wood. It was exactly what I was looking for. If they last, they're a great investment. I feel much more confident both in the river and on slippery, muddy banks.

Pros
  • Abrasion resistant steel balls provide a secure grip on slippery mossy rocks
Cons
  • Replacement available

Stream Trekkers are really handy

Love these traction cleats. They are ideal for strolling along the moss-covered rocks in the river. I imagine they will come in very handy for fly fishermen on our river. They are also very handy for walking through mossy areas in dense forests and wetlands. They're not too bad if you have to climb a steep hill to get out of where you've placed yourself. This is a definite keeper. I will give my grandchildren something. One thing I found though, I almost need a sturdy stick when going throughโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Easily and securely fits ALL waders
Cons
  • I won't say anything

I use these spikes when I'm dock fishing. I usually wear embossed sandals over your regular shoes or a pair of Timberlands boots (when dry). While this works fairly well, they are really bulky and heavy. When traversing mossy and uneven rocks, the extra weight doesn't help. With these boots, I wear them directly over my boots. Definitely worth it if you are tired of those heavy/bulky sandals. Be sure to rinse them off if you use them in sea water. Pros: โ€ข Light weight โ€ข Good grip/grip inโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Easy to put on and take off
Cons
  • Compatibility

Pretty good choice

I was a little skeptical of its usefulness but needed a quick solution for weekend river fly fishing. I didn't have much time to look for the perfect pair of boots so I decided to try these on instead. I already had a good pair of wellies and the spikes came off very easily. Put on some waders and it works great! I felt pretty confident with my grip on the river and even swam in some of the waterfall pools. We had two experienced fishermen with us who had the right shoes and were much better at

Pros
  • Suitable for drifting boats
Cons
  • Good but not great

They can and will fall off

I have worn them a few times fishing rivers and streams, traction wise they work very well. They appear to be well built and strong, but the rivets holding the chain to the rubber are bent from the rocks. I assume that's to be expected, I don't know if this indicates a possible failure of the rivets in the future. They came off my boots twice in three rides and got caught in the undergrowth. I don't agree with the idea of reinforcing them with extra zip ties over my boot - that will secure them

Pros
  • Only 8-12 ounces per pair
Cons
  • Concise instructions

Holds firmly in ice and snow grips

Size XL purchased to wear felt waders. They fit perfectly and worked very well. I fished the San Juan River first without them and then with them. San Juan is known for its agility, and so it was. With the felt just put on, I had a few moments where I was very nervous that I was going to fall. I actually shortened my day it was so scary. I put them on the next day and it was a completely different experience. I went confidently with no worries. Someone at the river even asked me how I walk soโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Also effective on gravel, rocks and mud
Cons
  • Nothing

They can and will fall off.

I've worn them a few times river and stream fishing, they work very well in terms of grip. the chain to the rubber is dented by stones. I assume that's to be expected, I don't know if this indicates a possible failure of the rivets in the future. They came off my boots twice in three rides and got caught in the undergrowth. I don't agree with the idea of reinforcing them with extra zip ties over my boot - that will secure them for sure, but if you get caught on something underwater it might not

Pros
  • Sturdy design
Cons
  • Nothing here
