I have worn them a few times fishing rivers and streams, traction wise they work very well. They appear to be well built and strong, but the rivets holding the chain to the rubber are bent from the rocks. I assume that's to be expected, I don't know if this indicates a possible failure of the rivets in the future. They came off my boots twice in three rides and got caught in the undergrowth. I don't agree with the idea of reinforcing them with extra zip ties over my boot - that will secure them for sure, but if you get caught on something underwater it might not be good. Maybe losing one is better than being saved. Also, the individual spikes on the chains are pretty sharp, and I watch the treads of my boots closely for abrasion. Overall I like them and would buy them again
