Ideal for desktop work. My only complaint is that the connection between the transformer and what goes into the battery compartment doesn't snap and keeps losing connection, causing the camera to lose power. At first I thought it would prevent someone from stepping on the cable and breaking it. After all, mine is permanently taped down and I still have to reattach it often. I worry that the power will go out while the camera is still recording a file and won't notice until it's too late. I would have bought the Nikon version if I hadn't already bought this one. But of course it's nice that you don't have to charge the batteries.
