Of course they didn't cover the little brass piece between the last thread and the plastic socket like the caps that came with the truck. They covered all the threads and fitted snugly to the bottom of the threads. You can see some brass, but I haven't found any caps that would fit longer and cover the threads. Let me know if you do all this lol. If the bronze/brass look bothers you that much, scrape with sandpaper (for adhesion) and apply a matching road/weather rust oleum paint. You look good enough for me.
