Review on Vintage Copper Winding Mechanical Watches by Alex Smith

Revainrating 5 out of 5

The Zoot costume wasn't included, but everything else was!

This mechanical pocket watch has a domed glass part that covers the dial but as it is not mentioned in the description I assumed the acrylic part was overpriced. So the glass material was a nice bonus. The 24-hour display and smaller seconds hand are also a nice touch, giving this pocket watch a total of 5 hands moving around the face. The dial itself also has an olive white patina that helps set off the copper case (which itself has a beautifully aged finish, giving it the allure of a classic antique piece). Finally, the printed Roman numerals have a glossy sheen/raised aesthetic, as opposed to what I envisioned as cheaply printed cardboard. Overall definitely not cheaply made, but somehow cheaply made and something to give away. The only downside was the slightly shorter chain length which, while matching the tone and the luxurious carabiner attachment on the shackle, means you can't twist this spiffy thing to your heart's content.

Pros
  • Small 24 hour dial and seconds hand
Cons
  • Seniors
