I was a bit scared to buy this based on other reviews. I did as I was told and removed the nail polish before applying, then washed and dried my hands thoroughly with soap and water. I applied the decals and used very hard pressure (I think that's key!) to make sure they adhered well. I trimmed off the excess edges and top with nail scissors (nail clippers work too!). I put on a top coat to make them last longer. I'm on day 3 and haven't had a single exfoliant or started exfoliating yet. The only thing I would have liked a little better would be if the nails were a little "life size". Some of the nail beds were too wide and definitely too long. I would suggest that the drawings at the tip of the nail be moved closer to the base otherwise you will clip them. For the hearts (for example) I had to cut off the bottom and resize to keep the pattern on the nail. Otherwise it would have been long gone! LAUGH OUT LOUD. Although quite happy with it.
