Review on Four Paws Heavy Duty Tie Out Cable: Superior Strength for Secure Pet Restraint by Jason Ortiz

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Great for medium sized dogs

I have a 40 lb Malimute that thinks he is a 100 lb wolf. She can tie any tie I put on her and she's a master of escape when it comes to collars and harnesses. She's definitely a fighter, so I had to find something strong enough to hold her while still being able to easily slide down her original rope running through the yard. This one works. I have to change them about every 4 months because eventually they fight so hard that they break them. But for the price it's a good deal. It holds it well and, unlike chains, doesn't tangle around things or cut into sharp edges. It's lightweight so she doesn't feel chained when playing outside. And it doesn't get tangled around them, so it's really safe for them to use. I feel 100% comfortable when she goes out with this tie. I was afraid that other fasteners would break too easily or get tangled around them or the bushes. But this one is perfect. I live in Alaska - so our -40 degree weather plays a big part in these bars. But in the summer months it works great and never breaks. There is a warning on the packaging not to use in freezing temperatures (which I suspect is because the metal becomes brittle and the plastic coating cracks). So I'm giving it 5 stars because I know it would be perfect for medium sized dogs if used in the big US. It's lightweight, durable, doesn't tangle and my dog doesn't seem to mind at all.
