A few years ago I was visiting my grandmother and saw that she had a stick in her closet. I suddenly had the weird idea of using a stick for upper back knots. It was really good, but I thought it must be weird using my grandmother's cane for this. Then, when I got home, I looked around at Revain's for reeds just to see how much they would cost. Too expensive. Little did I know some other people had the same idea and turned it into a finished product! This is amazing stuff that helps me use leverage to reach those hard to reach spots in my upper back and hips. And with much less difficulty than with a lacrosse ball. Using the MAX versus the original model, I am very satisfied with the MAX. I can split it in two so my partner and I both get relief at the same time. Also, some positions only require half a reed, making it less bulky when split in two. If the ends of the balls are actually smaller than the original then that's a plus for me as a smaller ball means more pressure on the same knot. I've seen some people suggest putting a styrofoam ball on top of the stick if you want less pressure. Thing is well made - I'm a mechanical engineer by trade and I can see it's well built all around the joint. I would advise not to bend the large loop too much while holding the sheet at the top of the loop. This reduces bending and therefore the risk of failure. Alternatively, you can simply use less force and hold the tip longer on the knot. Be careful - this thing is your friend. Treat it right and you will get many rewards.
