At first I doubted it wouldn't stretch properly because I don't have an iron but my husband put a steam cleaner on it and right away you can see that it does at all won't rise soaked, but I'd suggest just letting it air dry if it does get wet. Make sure it is 100% dry before putting it in the playpen with your baby. i love this thing
