BoomX's ease of use is fantastic; grab it and go! If you have the requisite iPhone input and an audio recording app, you're already halfway there. The battery life is about 9 hours from what I tested. The receiver will draw battery from your phone/whatever you're going to be using, so make sure it's fully charged! Both transmitters use USB-C, but you only get one charging cable, so I'd recommend buying another one. "Dead Cat" does what it's supposed to do, and the pita mic is long enough for most people to wear. When recording, remember that both channels are recorded as one. The receiver itself does not have any technology for channel separation, you can only reduce or increase the volume on the receiver. The sound itself is crisp, clean, delicate but not overly so if you know how to use lav mics properly you shouldn't have any problems. Also, make sure you have decent headphones as you won't be able to use your phone's speaker while listening to the recording and playback.
