Still better than the plastic body of the OEM thermostat. Can be made from high quality steel or aluminium. Allows the user to remove the pre-installation thermostat for a pre-installation inspection (OEM is a one piece housing on the 05 aveo). Before installation, check the thermostat while it is hot. Make sure there is no gap between the two flanges of the screw holes (tabs) or the tabs will break when tightened. Don't ask me how I know that. I ended up buying another case and found that the bottom of the case was not machined properly, leaving space between the flanges (lugs). The other hull I had to purchase fit perfectly, was easy to install and ran 2,000,000 miles with no problems.
