This morning I installed an ethernet cable in my house so we could have wired access to different rooms (our builders just put RJ11 plugs in there). When I was done I tried to test everything with my network tester but found these RJ45s were too long (I guess). They don't stay in place. You can plug them into the ethernet port, but they'll never click into place, so pull a little and they'll just pop out. I've tried this with multiple items as well as my tester (like the back of two different routers) and both had the same issue. I went to Home Depot and bought some other RJ45 connectors to see if the problem was with them or my crimper. No, the ones I bought in HD worked fine, no problems. So now I'm spending a few more hours re-crimping network cables I thought I'd already removed. so much fun.
