My roommates and I have been using this product for over a month now and love it! I assembled it myself and only needed help with the last step. We took shoes for 4 people (placed around the front door) and laid them out on this organizer. Our door area is so clean now :) I chose this product because the colors were fairly neutral and suited our decor. I live with three other women so we have a lot of shoes - this organizer is big enough to fit multiple rows of shoes but not so big that it looks cluttered or bossy. The hanging pocket on the side was perfect for slippers, flip flops and flat sandals. We are very happy with this product! First off I'd say the organizer stands up pretty well on its own, but if I had small children I wouldn't want to use it for fear it might tip over.
