We've used them for the entire Christmas period (over a month) and are very impressed. One battery (cheap general purpose batteries) in each powered them all the time (at least a month of daily use). The flicker feature for use in windows that can be viewed from the outside makes them too dim to use. We used them at full brightness with no flicker and they were clearly visible through windows at night. The suction cups are fine - just make sure the window is in good condition and clean with Windex. UPDATE 1 year later: I got them for this holiday season and am still impressed with these lights. We use them in a timer function so they automatically turn on for 6 hours (we have them at 4:30pm) and then turn off for 18 hours. They work reliably and we don't have to fiddle with them every day. I have a piece of advice. If storing for a long period of time, remove the button cell battery from the remote control. When I took it out this winter, the battery in the remote was dead, so it should drain slowly over time. Of course, you should also remove the batteries from the candles, as they can leak acid when they go bad.
