Review on πŸŽ₯ Vamvo L4200 Mini Projector, Portable Video Projector for Full HD 1080P 200” Display; 3800 Lux Outdoor Movie Projector with 50,000 Hrs, Compatible with Fire TV Stick, PS4, HDMI, VGA, AV and USB by Pius Aponte

But good for the price.

I bought this to replace a 12 year old Infocus IN24 that broke down after a power surge. Pros: 1. The whole projector only costs $50 more than a regular light bulb to replace an old one2. The power consumption is 75 W instead of 300 W in the previous model3. True 720p resolution as opposed to true 800x600 on the old one. Built-in speaker5. Play media from USB storage6. HDMI connection, VGA connection and composite video. Cons: 1. No scaling - my old projector was ceiling mounted and optically scaled to fit my screen. The output on the new one is 50% larger than my screen and there is no other way to adjust the size other than to position it closer2. No actual ceiling mount - it has a tripod mounting screw - that's it. The old projector had 3 mounting points to distribute the weight evenly, while this tripod doesn't have a mount near the center of mass.3. Optical Keystone Adjustment - Sure, you don't lose resolution this way, but if you have to adjust keystone, you won't be able to focus the top and bottom edges of the screen. I give this unit 4 stars simply because its overall performance and image quality is better than the $900 unit it replaced at a fraction of the cost. And if you've been looking for a semi-portable player that'll keep you entertained almost anywhere (you can still provide at least 100W of power), you can't find anything better than this. For permanent installs, though, you might want to look a little more.

Pros
  • Regular price
Cons
  • Weak kit
