Lots of cons on motorcycles and weight sports

I bought this bag to replace my old Quadboss bag. First impressions were that this bag was smaller than I imagined. My old bag fits 2 helmets. This bag isn't like I could fit a helmet in the largest center pocket. Second, the description is incorrect. The cup holders were not insulated and there was no back padding. The construction of the bag was really impressive, but after all the parts were assembled and put together, it seemed quite wobbly. When installing the bag I noticed a big problem. Just 4 straps that attach the entire bag to the rack. 2 for each side pocket and none for the center pocket. My old bag had at least 8 of these. More importantly, they're only held together by a tension cam, like a backpack - only the strap extends fully. This is incredibly important for two reasons. In my old bag, 7 out of 8 straps broke in 2 years. They appear to be much thinner than the material. Second, a little bouncing and these things will come loose. I'm an aggressive rider so I'm pretty sure I have to tighten it up every hour or so. Add some wind and I assume they fall apart completely. Now I have to worry about the bag falling off when towing the quad. I stretched as far as I could, sat in the seat, leaned back, and all I felt was the top steel bar of the rear bag pressing against my back. Terribly uncomfortable. I checked the description twice and yes it says back cushion although it is not in the box or in the pictures. On the other hand, the material is waterproof, although it's only a matter of time before the steel frame is severed. And the material design looks very rigid. I would value this bag at about half the retail price. I would return it, unfortunately I need it so my girlfriend doesn't fall off when we go skiing in 2 days. I don't expect this bag to be used half as much as my old bag and it's double the price.

Pros
  • Hands free
Cons
  • Very expensive
