I've had these hats for a few months now. They have been used in both seawater and chlorinated pools and have been machine washed many times. Hats are held securely on the child's head. The material is stretchy and very light for a very comfortable fit. I have a three year old, a six year old and a nine year old. All three children can wear hats of the same size and they fit perfectly. The foam-filled visor is strong enough to stay in place and soft enough to play with.
