Review on Sony - C400 Wireless Behind-Neck In Ear Headphone White (WIC400/W) by Ta Wan ᠌

There are pros and cons, think before buying.

About these headphones, I have a lot of conflicting thoughts and feelings. The bow is quite flexible, there are no backlashes or squeaks, and there are four different sized pairs of ear cushions included in the package. The headphones have been assembled to a high standard. The wires are rather thin and weak, they do not appear to be reliable, they do not inspire confidence, and it is quite conceivable that they may get stiff when exposed to freezing temperatures. Not only did I bring them in for the purpose of listening to music, but I also used them as a headset. I was extremely happy with the amount of time the battery lasted before needing to be recharged; in a pretty active mode, it lasted for around two days. Yet, the sound makes certain things less clear than others. In the mode for listening to music, the sound is fairly nice, the bass can be heard, but there is no fanaticism in the sound; the sound is clean, and there is no distortion heard. Yet when you switch to the headset's talk mode, everything becomes a great deal more difficult. When I first used the headphones, I connected them to an older Xiaomi Redmi 3 and noticed that there was interference and extraneous noise during a conversation. I could hear things like clicks, crackles, grunts, and other sounds. In addition, while in talk mode, the signal from the microphone is heard in the headphones. This means that if you are in a noisy environment or if you touch the collar with the microphone with a collar, scarf, finger, etc., all of this noise will be heard not only by your interlocutor but also by you in speakers. This is true even if you are not touching the collar with the microphone. After having it for about a week, I was getting ready to send it back when I connected the headphones to the Nokia 8. At that point, I decided to keep the headphones. The interference and background noise have been eliminated, and the sound quality in speak mode has improved. Even though the signal from the microphone can still be heard in the speakers, using them is now far less annoying. Another minor drawback was that the headphones did not provide any early warning when the battery charge became low; rather, after the battery was depleted to zero, the headphones merrily announced "Power off." Yet, this is not nearly as important. If you choose headphones primarily for listening to music or watching videos, you can safely take them with you. On the other hand, if you talk a lot on the phone and plan to actively use them as a headset, at the very least, I advise you to test them with your smartphone, and then make a decision.

Pros
  • duration of use before the battery needs to be recharged, audio quality when playing music, and connectivity via NFC.
Cons
  • Terrible sound quality while using the headset mode, and there is no warning when the battery is becoming low.
