Review on Portable Electrode HITBOX πŸ”Œ Voltage Inverter: Ultimate Power on-the-go! by Andrew Spainhour

Great compact device!

I bought this because I wanted to learn to weld but didn't want to spend a lot of money. I looked at cored wire welders from a variety of manufacturers but came to the conclusion that it would be easier to learn to weld with sticks. This welder is surprisingly small, not much bigger than a loaf of bread! For the record, I have a dedicated 115v 20 amp outlet that I plug in - not sure if 15 amps would be enough. I watched some YouTube videos on welding and attached some photos of my results. Two different types of rods are used here - one is a 1/16 7014 rod which I've stuck at around 45-50 amps, DCEP (Reverse Polarity) with mediocre results. Most other balls have been made from 1/8th 6013 rod at 115 amps, again DCEP, with much better results. My hands are shaky so your results may be better. I was able to make some good welds and (albeit ugly ones) a very strong weld holding two pieces of 3/8 steel together. So far I'm very happy with the performance of the device, but I've only been using it for two days, so I can't comment on the durability yet.
