I both had the same lamp 2 years ago but it was then sold under the Macegrow brand. It was also $10 cheaper (see reason below). Pros: It has 7 channels of sunrise and sunset individually adjustable by 1%, it's thin and small, it's silent. It has a fan that is barely audible up close. My old machine makes a low, high pitched sound. It is audible even from 2 meters, but very quiet. I'm not sure if this new version has that too. I haven't heard anything about it. I bought a second one to spread the light but keep the intensity high for the new SPS and LPS. With a light source I was only able to grow the more challenging corals in the center of the tank. So for two lights I spent $250 on a 7 channel dimmable sunrise light. With a total light output of 110W to fit a 54 gallon tank with an unusual shape. Some of the more expensive tubes, like the Kessil, are likely to be better on one (no disco effect) but worse on others (price, placement above the tank, ability to tune individual channels).
