I have a basic thermometer at home that you put in your mouth or armpit and measure mercury levels, but due to the pandemic I was a bit concerned about this model. Even as we see the bizarre proximity devices that pop up everywhere when we visit a store or store, we have a huge call to try it. So we moved on after seeing so many positive reviews. I'm glad I chose this one. I've been using this thermometer for a week now and am very pleased with the accuracy and speed at which it gives readings rather than waiting for the mercury levels to go up/down. Highly recommended. My 2 cents below: Pros: - runs so fast and you will see the readings with a beep - very convenient to use by pressing the start button - temp readings seem pretty accurate when I compare them to other Mercury Ones - nice and clear LED -Screen with GREEN/ORANGE/RED lighting depending on the temperature. It is good to have a fever indicator as it is very useful for instant reading and risk assessment. It even has a fever alarm. Has both body mode and surface mode and works great with both quick toggle and quick toggle. It has a memory and stores a maximum of 99 entries. Adjust C/F or volume level for sounds etc. Build quality is generally very good. From the buttons to the print, everything looks stylish. It comes with small screws and a tiny screwdriver to lock the battery cover in place for added security. It also comes with a carrying case so it is easy to take with you wherever you go. Standby mode to save battery power when not in use. It is very durable and will last a long time. They claim that the lifespan is 5 years. They even include a Quality Assurance Certificate which is also stamped. Not a big deal but gives confidence in their manufacturing process. Cons: - None for functionality and quality. Suggestions: - It is of course more expensive than mercury, but it is one of the inexpensive and high quality infrared thermometers. instead of the built-in battery. It would be great if it had a lithium battery, but in terms of durability, reusable batteries also make more sense.
