Great so far! on Cat Trees & Condos

We've had it less than a day but it's been a hit with one of our two cats so far. At the end of December we adopted Jackson, a (now) 7 month old kitten, as a companion to our almost 8 year old tomcat CK who lost his 18 year old companion Maestro in mid December. Jackson is your typical kitty - he's a ball of fur and love who just wants to play, while CK is a big boy (18lbs) who plays a little but then loses patience and wants to be left alone, which is to Hissing leads and sometimes loud squeak. We wanted to give CK a chance to escape Jackson and give Jackson other ways to play. Jackson was everywhere in this cat apartment once it was assembled (and assembly was easy). However, CK is cautious about climbing. He showed interest in the tree and lay down next to the S-shaped scraper, but didn't hit the tree with his shuttle. We put him on the platform by the closet and he stuck his head in the closet but didn't try to go inside. Jackson has one ball, explored all areas and played with three balls; I will be very vigilant when trimming his nails though as it looks like it would be easy for him to get caught and hurt, possibly seriously. I was incredibly excited to get this cat apartment and I hope CK starts using it too - especially since it might give him some peace of mind from Jackson. It's pretty solid, but we're going to add some weight to the base for extra security. It was easy to put together and the color matches well (bonus since the color wasn't even considered). I love it; I just wish the closet had a bigger entrance for my CK to use (was?). I would give this item five stars if it weren't for the fact that I'm writing this less than 24 hours after receipt/assembly. Let's see how it stands the test of time.
