Since Boy Scouts in 1972 I have had many compasses in my life. . Haven't used it for hiking/camping yet but for the money it seems like a good buy. A small flaw. It's heavier than the plastic compass I had before. You can't wear it around your neck like I used to. It's too heavy for your pockets. must be removed or attached to a belt. Not a Della Breaker, but if you travel light this compass is not for you.
