Terrible noise in this extension cord.

Terrible electronic noise on the line when I use an extension cord between the headset and the computer. If I bypass the extension cord and plug it in directly, there is no noise. The noise is so loud I can't leave it plugged in. I will be returning this cable and trying a different one.
