This is a powerful IPL (Intense Pulsed Light) hair removal device for home use. I have a family member who has had (expensive) laser hair removal - it's a similar idea but with a different technology. The light lens has an area on the order of 1 square inch, making it suitable for (slow) illumination of large areas. I have no idea where they got the term "good for just under 1 million pulses"; I doubt we'll ever come close to testing it. How it works? Well after 3 treatments (1st week) I definitely see less hair growth but it may take a few more weeks with 1 or 2 treatments per week to see 95% removal. If you're trying to remove hair in a hard-to-reach or visible area (shoulders, back, etc.), it's probably best to have someone help you - you really need to cover the entire area. So far no pain, no burning. , just less stubble.
