Water shoes for teens/young men are a well thought out product. First you need to order one size larger than you expect. My son is a size 8 and his toes are almost touching the tips. Other than that part of the product, they really are awesome. They have slits that wrap around your individual toes at the end, providing good support for them and the rest of your foot. He says he can walk in them comfortably as if they were regular shoes. They have a thick rubber outsole, which is great if you're going somewhere like a concrete pool as the heat can't penetrate and burn your foot. To put them on, you can loosen them with the elastic cord at the top and tighten the rubber band around the ankle. After that you can tighten them again with the same elastic cord at the top. The inside is soft and won't slip when you're wet and walking around. Overall this is a great product, four stars but no mention of being small.
