I am right handed but have always used scissors with my left hand. I never thought about the difference between left and right scissors until my husband pointed it out to me. This has to do with how the force and leverage is applied to the top blade. Using the right scissors in the left hand sometimes causes the paper to slip between the blades when cutting. These left-handed scissors work better for left-handers because the blades compress tighter in the right way for increased power. We keep these scissors in the trash drawer in the kitchen and use them for things like opening packages, cutting food ribbon, and cutting paper receipts. Haven't tried them on fabric but they seem to work for that too. The only thing that confuses me is that it took a month to ship, but that has nothing to do with how good the product was.
