. I wasn't happy! I almost wrote a terrible review but after seeing so many rave reviews about this decanter I decided to contact the seller first. They responded quickly and did a small test to make sure it was damaged in transit. After testing I contacted them and they immediately found me a replacement. I tested it and it really held the temperature for 24 hours. Here's what they had me do: 1) Fill it completely with boiling water and close the lid tightly. 2) Wait an hour and feel the outside (don't open it yet). If the outside feels very hot, there's a good chance the inner lining was damaged in transit. 3) Keep the hot water covered inside for 24 hours (from the time you first poured it). 4) Measure the water temperature should be around 140 F; which is still pretty hot. 5) If it's not around 140F or more, your carafe isn't working properly. As I said, my replacement is working great and I'm glad I decided to contact the seller first.
