We always had a bad habit of losing our keys somewhere in the house and we ended up losing about 5 minutes before going anywhere looking for those damn things! Needless to say, the purchase put an end to that. We decided to purchase this stand because it was reasonably priced at the time ($12.99 in September 2015) and had a nice, simple look. Despite some negative reviews I've read, our key hanger is solid and free from defects. It's been over 2 years since we bought it but I remember the installation was very easy and straightforward. I made sure one of the two mounting screws went into the stud. For the other mounting screw, I used the drywall anchor included in the kit. I know this goes without saying for any experienced hobbyist, but make sure you drill a pilot hole big enough to fit the drywall anchor. If it's too small, you can damage the anchor if you try to push it in. in. Our counter is located just outside our main front door, which is where it makes the most sense (for us) to have our house and car keys. As well as being great for keys, this rack is great for hanging your dog gear like leashes, poop bags and extra collars (for all dog owners). We don't use a mailbox, we use it to store our gloves, hats, shoe horns and any other items you need quick access to before the walk. I found it better to use it for that rather than storing your mail, especially when most of your mail might be too high for the trash (magazines, weekly product ads, etc.). Some might think 5 hooks isn't enough, but I think that's the right balance. In my opinion, additional hooks would make this a bit strange. In conclusion, I recommend this housekeeper to every household. It doesn't matter if you have a bad habit of losing your keys, this shelf is effective at keeping things organized and organized.
