First of all, optical cables have small plastic grommets that need to be removed before connecting to devices. It took me an obscenely long time to figure this out after googling. I mainly use this soundbar to stream music via Bluetooth and the sound gets loud enough to fill my first floor, but definitely don't expect Bose quality or clarity. searched.
