Was not pre-filled but was easy to fill once the butane arrived. Lights up as long as any lighter on the first try. The neck is flexible but doesn't really take many different positions. However, it works well when it's just to light a stove/lighter/candles, which is what I bought it for. Although it's a bit short for a big fire. For those who use it for weed, well I don't smoke silly tobacco so I can't say if it will work for lighting pipes, but it will probably be better than your average beak because it will allow you to fish a little. It's a bit excessive to light a cigarette. But definitely great for gas burners and candles! I've only had gas for this for a few days, so I'll upgrade if it stops working over time.
