These work great but note that they have three tabs not two as shown in the picture. Your old unlit switch has two. Current goes through the switch. But the third protrusion is for grounding so the switch will light up. It may or may not be easy. I don't have access to the inside of the wall on my RV. Other switches near the dimmers have a ground, so the plan is to use "PosiTap" and share that ground. Like everyone else, I might accidentally leave the outside lights on or turn on the water heater because the switch is easy to miss. Hope this solves it.
