Easy to assemble. The instructions were "short" but sufficient. But no matter how tight I tighten the bolts that hold the whole structure together, the highest level is pretty shaky. The second top tier is about as bad. But the 3rd to the beginning is quite stable. And the lowest level is safe enough to be considered "safe". But overall, as beautiful as these pet ladders are, they are NOT durable. And even with a second opinion (neighbor), the design is too shaky. The neighbor wanted me to send it back but I worked too hard to get this thing and collect it just to give away. I don't see any other structures like this available online.
