This lamp claims to be an aquarium lamp. While it's definitely bright enough for that, I didn't expect to have to plug this light into a power source. This leaves the wiring partially exposed which seemed unsafe to be placed directly above the aquarium which was exposed to moisture and in danger of falling over if I accidentally bumped into it. For this reason I decided to send it back. A couple more issues with the light: The lamp also emits an incredible amount of heat, making it impossible to touch after only being on for a minute or two. The instructions are written in horrible English and given the amount of wiring and setup required to turn the light on and hook it up to the remote, that was problematic as well. The remote control is clunky and not specifically designed for light. There are function keys that are not used in this light. The lamp emits a high-pitched tone that could be heard even from behind the hood of my aquarium. Overall, this light was certainly bright and customizable. It probably has uses, but aquarium lighting isn't one of them.
