This mouse is not very different from many other mice and this is the second of this model that I have bought. THIS was bought for the second laptop in the family. I was so pleased with the first that when we needed the second it wasn't a difficult decision. There are some really nice perks. First, and the main reason I highly recommend this model, is that it doesn't lose connection with the laptop. I had a couple of other mice that often had to be cycled to reconnect to the laptop. Sometimes the previous Logitech model required restarting the PC AND the mouse. NONE of these issues have occurred with ANY of these models ON ANY COMPUTER. Second, this model is MUCH more economical to run. The previous model AND its predecessor used 2 AAA batteries about every 3-4 weeks. This mouse requires ONE AA battery and the original battery in the first mouse is over 4 months old! Other advantages: The mouse is very comfortable to hold, moves precisely on different surfaces and has been dropped several times without any visible damage. Overall great value for money!
