I'm so torn writing this review because I really wanted to love this top. For reference, I'm 5'1" tall, 57-119 lbs, 32" chest, 2/4 pants and white white WHITE is an Irish Catholic just waiting to burn to snow white. I hate messing around with sunscreen but I need a lot of sunscreen and I was hoping this would be the perfect solution. Unfortunately it isn't. I ordered black size S. The sun despite long sleeves. It's also incredibly sexy and I can't count the number of women asking me where I bought it! pulled slightly at my hem to turn it into a dress, it IMMEDIATELY ripped the ruffles on the sides. I say a few minutes after putting it on and barely pulling. I can't imagine the wash cycle the machine would take with it, it also goes up a ton when I walk - when I pull it down it's very flattering but when it goes up it always manages to grab me at its widest point to cut. on the hips (see photo). The result is definitely not very flattering, and I'm a petite girl, so I can't imagine how tall a short person will stand up to a taller person. I would try the medium but other than that it fits perfectly so I would be concerned about extra fabric. The zipper at the top, while very sexy, is also uncomfortable under the chin if you pull it all the way up. Finally, I wore this for another hour and a half (despite holes, awkward fit, etc.) and now I'm sunburned. I'm really torn because I love the idea of this rash guard. Love the lightweight feel, long sleeves, zipper that goes from sexy to closed, and the fact that it goes from shirt to dress. But all the design flaws aside, for $25 it should last more than 5 minutes and protect from the sun. I have another Lands End rashguard and while it's not as flashy as this one, I've never had to wear sunscreen underneath. I'm on vacation at the moment and have to cover something up so won't be returning. But if you're on the fence, I'd look elsewhere! There are other brands that produce similar styles that might be worth checking out.
