Revainrating 5 out of 5

Updated Rating: Poor quality control on laptop that otherwise looks good but is average overall

I would give 2.5 stars but would round up. The second blade also flickered, but I had to downgrade the Intel UHD driver. However, the new Intel drivers that came out a few days ago are working fine. When you buy this you're getting it from a reputable seller and with an extended warranty! The processing quality is very good. The new coating is more fingerprint resistant, not 100% but a huge improvement and easy to clean. Ports: 2 USB-C Thunderbolt with Power Delivery, 2 USB-A, full size HDMI, SD card reader, headphone jack Screen: 360/FHD - looks great, very fast. Going back to a 60Hz display sucks. I really wanted 240 QHD but it wasn't available anywhere. The webcam is the worst 1080 webcam I've ever used. You've saved, which is disappointing for a laptop at this price point. Narrator: You're terrible. Think of two mono cell phone speakers on each side. They sound dull and harsh. I have to remove this THX sticker because it's embarrassing. Keyboard: You are fine. Key travel is decent, but I like the Zephyrus G14 a lot more and it's clearly a long way from a MacBook line. Mouse: I really like it. Big, responsive, no problem. It's hard to go back to another laptop trackpad, and it's been around since the MacBook. Heat: The second blade didn't burn like the first one I had to send back. The pace is good for productivity software. It hits the 90s, almost 100 when games and fans are loud. Never use for lap play, place on a table. The fans spin up at around 45-50dB and for me it's not that bad when gaming. Works quietly with high performance, so there are no problems in an office environment. Battery life: For productive work you get about 5-6 hours at 75% brightness. The game lasts less than a couple of hours and you obviously won't get the best performance without a connection. even on an external 3440 x 1440 display. No issues on the laptop's native 1080 display. Control, MW, Paladins, Overwatch, Shadow of Tombraider fly here. ----I really like the design and build quality. Immediately after you took it out of the box, plugged it in, and turned it on, the laptop got incredibly hot while running updates and installing software. It was still getting warm as I surfed the web, and then the screen started flickering. Every time I moved the mouse, it flickered and the cursor became blurry. I did a reboot and everything went back to normal, but 5 minutes later it started again! I turned it off and decided to return it the next morning. Out of curiosity, I managed to run some tests this morning and surprisingly, despite the Razer Blade Advanced running extremely hot, there was no screen flickering or flickering issues. Well, that was until I opened up Notepad to pull out my notes for these tests! WTF. Anyway, here are the results of what I was able to test. **Benchmarks*** FireStrike – 17916* TimeSpy – 8129* Single Core Cinebench: 1484* Multi Core Cinebench: 8094* Tomb Raider: 14863/95 FPSRazer should really work on their QC!
