My measurements are 35" waist, 45" hips and I ordered a large one. I've been looking for biker shorts that fit well for months with no luck until I found these. I like to lift and walk with them. ***They don't protect against super squats*** The waistband isn't too tight and the glutes and legs compress perfectly. I don't have a much lower tummy and it still does a good job of flattening the tummy. The only downside is that the pockets are on the waist and not the outer thighs. If it violated the terms of the deal for you, drop them. I think they are perfect for the gym with a lifting sweatshirt and an outdoor running jersey.
