If you are thinking of buying this mosquito control product, don't worry. We have the worst mosquito season in the fall and I needed something to control them around the house. I saw "mosquitoes" in the name of this product along with good reviews so I bought it. I placed it in the room that seemed to have the most mosquitoes and waited for the carnage to begin. Unfortunately after 1 week of continuous use it only killed 4 mosquitoes. Every morning that week, my wife and I would smack a dozen mosquitoes within a few yards of the trap. I did a little research and found that mosquitoes are not attracted to light or heat, so this device only kills mosquitoes. those are the ones that randomly fly in. It turns out that mosquitoes are attracted to carbon dioxide in the breath of humans and animals. I've searched online and found that mosquito baits can be made from yeast, brown sugar and water so I made a bottle out of it and installed it just behind the zipper, threw a towel over the bottle and the back of the machine to keep the mosquitos out have to go through the front to get to it. I heard the first "pop" within a minute and 3 more over the next 20 minutes or so. We didn't see any mosquitoes in the room the next morning, but there were a lot of them in the cleaning lady's bin. So with some help I was able to get this device to work on mosquitoes, but the same place I read about how to make mosquito baits also showed how to make a trap out of an empty 2 liter bottle. It worked and completely eliminated the need for a lock. Conclusion: Mosquito repellents can be made many times better than this device by making a homemade trap and also spending a lot less money.
