So I was very sad to give this mattress 1 star as my 15 month old son loved it and yes slept better on it. It's soft and flavorful and delicious. BUT! When I unpacked it and let it "breathe", it smelled very strongly. After about 48 hours I decided to put it on my son's crib and over the next few nights the smell was so strong it filled the room. I started to worry. I decided to do a little research on polyurethane mattresses and it turned out that despite the fact that this mattress has a certificate confirming its "safety", I can't find the exact materials anywhere on the mattress labels or on the manufacturer's website that could have been used during the mattress manufacture of this product. . It turns out that companies are not legally required to disclose materials. Upon further research, I found out that polyurethane is considered "toxic" and can have many effects on a tiny person. I decided to take it off as soon as possible and replace it with a 100% organic wool mattress topper. It's not that soft, but safety is paramount. I really wanted to love it, but I'm so glad I kept learning.
