I received this product at a discount for my honest review. Cons: (because, as many have pointed out, it's the first thing you notice). SMELL HORRIBLE. When you open the packaging, there is a strong chemical smell and even the box stinks! This is relevant and odd for something called organic. I had to throw it in the washing machine. I didn't even want to leave it in the basket in the bedroom. However, the smell came out on the first wash, which was good. I wouldn't have a problem with it if I bought it for myself, but I wouldn't want to give that smell away as a gift! Wash and wrap first if gifting this item! Sizing: This fits me well as I'm an S/M shirt size, but it wraps up and if I was already a plus size I don't think I would have enough movement to maneuver the baby around the chest to grab until it's covered. What to consider if you have a full figure. Pros: Functionality: I've used this type of nursing shawl in the past and I really think it works well to cover baby so he doesn't break out easily. I've rarely used a nursing shawl but there were certainly places where I felt it needed to be more discreet for more comfort, so this shawl works well to cover a baby and you can wear it over yours Lay shoulder, but still look out from side shoulder. It is better for covering than fascia style. Secondly, the fabric stretches a little, which is very convenient if you put a child under it. Third, it's soft and breathable, so hopefully as comfortable as a blanket over your head at dinner! Comfort as a Scarf: I personally have rarely used my nursing scarf as a scarf (keep in my bag and take out when needed) but this one is comfortable as a scarf and looks very attractive. Before washing I didn't think the fabric would be as comfortable as a scarf but after washing it was like a quality t-shirt. It's not your typical scarf material, so don't expect a light/flowy look, but it's comfortable. Durability: I haven't had it long enough to say how long it will last, but it appears to be well made and feels durable. , and the fabric is soft but seems to hold up to many, many washes.
