I used one of the more traditional neck fans and liked it. didn't stop to adjust the fan's position (it tended to slip when moving) and before I knew it my ponytail got stuck in the fan blades. This caused me to reconsider my fan choice. There's no snagging problem here - the design keeps the blades closed to prevent this. Unfortunately, this also reduces the surface area over which the fan blows: significantly less airflow than with a traditional fan header. In addition, the rigid U-shaped design reduces the range of motion and also reduces the number of possible fan head positions.
