This electric sharpener works very well. It has a hitch that helps when some kids want to sharpen their pencils. The whole block is very good. We used several pencils with decorative "plastic" overlays on the outside. If you have children in school, you know that these pens are often given as gifts to students. The sharpener will slow down a bit when you use one of these pens in it, but it will still work. I would advise not to use such pins in it if you can help. Yellow-colored wooden pencils work great. This product gets four stars because I only have one complaint. The electrical cable for this has a tiny connection point on the sharpener. It seems to be holding up well, but it also seems a bit fragile. In addition, the insert sits on the side, which is somewhat impractical. You can see the tiny porthole at the bottom right of this product image. It is located on the side and directly in front of the chip container part. I don't let my kids handle it or move it much. But apart from the small technical design, the functional part of this sharpener works very well.
