I wasn't very optimistic when I bought this for my daughter's birthday. But this little thing makes itself felt. It's LOUD, they often take it outside when in the pool. I live in the city, so it's not quiet here at all, then the kids scream and splash, but you can still hear it well. I wouldn't let them put it in the pool, although they tried, so I can't tell you if it can be used in that sense. But we all use it in the shower with no problem. In terms of charging, we started using it right out of the box and used it multiple times each day for over a month before it started blinking and needed a charge. It's lasted for hours every time we've had it outside, so it's certainly an impressive little battery. I am pleasantly surprised by this little thing and would definitely recommend it.
